Vascular plants of NE US and adjacent Canada
Cal-lobes 5, triangular, acute or acuminate, shorter than the coriaceous obconic tube; cor-tube coriaceous, narrowly campanulate or almost tubular, the limb spreading, 5-lobed, only slightly bilabiate; stamens 4, paired, about equaling the cor-tube; fr elongate, narrowly clavate, tapering to both ends, scarcely flattened; seeds in several rows on each side of the broad, thin partition, flat, oblong, broadly winged on each side; woody vines, trailing or climbing by rootlets along the stem, with odd-pinnately compound lvs and large orange-red fls on very short pedicels. 2, the other in e. Asia.
