Locality: United States, Illinois, Saint Clair, Scott Air Force Base; about 3.5 miles east southeast of Shiloh, west side of Silver Creek between airport taxi runway and Norfolk Southern Railway. Lebanon 7.5 minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation 410-430 feet.

Habitat: Alluvial soil, moist to wet clay loam, stream - river terrace.; Floodplain forest, relatively undisturbed and diverse, with Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Quercus spp. Carya laciniosa, Acer saccharinum, Ilex decidua, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cornus drummondii.; Occasional to locally common tree 15-20 meters tall.
