Locality: United States, California, Los Angeles, South side of California Route 138 (Pearblossom Highway) just east of Palmdale and about 1 mile west of Little Rock; west side of Little Rock Wash. Elevation about 2820 feet.
Habitat: Sandy soil with gravel, dry outwash plain.; Southwestern Mojave Desert, Joshua tree - Atriplex - mesquite - creosote flats.; Flowers bright reddish-purple; local annual in small groups on open ground with Linanthus parryae.
