Locality:
United States, California, Los Angeles, Antelope Valley, east of California Poppy Reserve, north and south sides of Avenue I (Lancaster Road), 1.5 miles west of Munz Ranch Road, 2.6 miles west of junction with 120th Street West, about 15 miles due northwest of Palmdale. Elevation about 2640 feet.
Habitat:
North side of San Gabriel Mountains. Gentle slopes, sandy gravel (decomposed granite). Disturbed soil at roadside.; Southwestern Mojave Desert, annual desert grassland with grazing history, with Eschscholzia californica, Astragalus, Pectocarya, Lasthenia californica, Schismus, Bromus spp.; Frequent weedy grass; spikelets sometimes drooping.
