Habitat: Mountain Grassland. Growing in shallow erosion pockets on surface of level bedrock outcrop. The locality is poorly shaded and somewhat dry. Shallow soil derived in situ from sandstone and limestone members of the Kaibab Formation plus organic detritus. Slope: About 20 degrees; facing northeast.
Associated Species: Festuca, Muhlenbergia, Lupinus, Eriogonum, Potentilla, Juniperus
Description: Rare; favors sandstone outcrops situated in open meadows. This locality appears to be rather typical of S. watsonii habitat in Arizona.
Reproductive Condition: sterile
