Habitat: Mixed sand and gravel along alkaline flats with Tamarix.

Description: Large shrub lacking a well defined basal stem but with a number of long flexible stems developing in various directions, the stems with frequent shorter divaricate branches; the younger branches leafy and with terminal globular spikes of truits. Forming tangled thickets along the river area.
Notes: Voucher in survey of biodiversity plant samples for the National Cancer Institute, World Botanical Associates, Bakersfield, CA 93380-114. No samples collected
