Steep rocky slopes with granite boulders, coarse decomposed granite soil; upland desert scrub.
Salazaria, Ephedra viridis, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Stipa speciosa, etc.
Uncommon annual in open gravel between shrubs and rocks. Most common where water accumulated during Sept. rains (washes, etc.) Widely scatered. Fls. yellow.
