Habitat: In clay soil; on N-facing slope.
Associated Species: Jepsonia malvifolia, Haplopappus venetus, Sanicula arguta, Amblyopappus, Achillea, Daucus pusillus, Melilotus indicus, Dichelostemma, Centaurium.
Description: Perennial to 3.5 ft high; lacks pubsecence on nodes but resembles S. diegoensis in all other respects.
Reproductive Condition: flowering or fruiting
Notes: locally common.
