Habitat: In road cuts, mostly out of tire tracks, in grassland dominated by Lehmann's lovegrass (Eragrostis lehmanniana).
Associated Species: Eragrostis lehmanii. With [grass species to be identified], Gomphrena caespitosa, Evolvulus sericeus, Sida abutifolia, Convolvulus equitans, Acmispon brachycarpus.
Reproductive Condition: sporadic
Notes: Scattered lone individuals, sometimes in small groups of 2-3, easily confused for Asclepias involucrata until blooming.
