Locality: United States, Arkansas, Sharp, Ozark Highlands. Central Plateau Ecoregion. USGS Sitka 7.5' Quad. Harold E. Alexander Wildlife Management Area. S of White Tail Rd., E of Buck Ridge & W of upper end of Hurricane Creek.

Location Remarks: Vicinity of coordinates; coordinates not obtained in situ with GPS but estimated post-collection event using mapping programs. Coordinates considered accurate to within 100 m.
Habitat: Good quality dolomite glade with cedar encroachment.
Associated Species: Growing with Allium, Camassia scilloides, Toxicoscordion nuttallii, Rudbeckia missouriensis, Schizachyrium scoparium, Ruellia humilis, Carex meadii, C. crawei, Asclepias viridis, Amsonia ciliata, Sedum pulchellum, Eleocharis compressa, Hypoxis hirsuta, Parthenium hispidum, Comandra umbellata, Polytaenia nuttallii, Echinacea simulata, Nemastylis geminiflora, Leavenworthia uniflora, & Pediomelum esculentum.
Description: Fresh flowers pinkish-purple. Plants perennial from more or less woody rootstock.

Preparations: Herbarium Sheet 1 of 1.
Notes: Hundreds of plants. Scattered to locally common in very thin gravelly soil over bedrock.
