H. Nash, 5.5 miles E of Rosario and 4.5 miles NE on left fork in the vicinity of 30° 8' 53.0016 N 115° 35' 30.0012'' W, elevation 1089 ft as determined by Google Earth.

Description:
Plant height ca 5 feet; stems gray green; spines are white, tan or gray, newer ones with golden or golden brown sheaths; flowers collected morning, midday and afternoon, flower diameter 42-50 mm, length 46-55 mm, outer perianth pale greenish-yellow with a reddish-brown midstripe, inner perianth pale tannish-olive with reddish-brown at tips, additional flowers collected in May of 2003 and 2005; stigma lobe number 3-4, cream or pale yellow; style cream or pale yellow; filaments pale olive green with a blush of maroon, strong thigmotrophic response; fruit collected 20 September 2011, fleshy, yellow-green, with and without spines; seeds tan, 7 mm.
Reproductive Condition:
Flowering and with fruit.
