Locality: United States, Arkansas, Newton, Ozark Highlands. Dissected Springfield Plateau-Elk River Hills Ecoregion. USGS Western Grove 7.5' Quad. Along both sides of Mt. Hersey Rd. (and adjacent tributary of Davis Creek) 0.2 mi. W of bridge on Davis Creek.

Location Remarks: Vicinity of coordinates; coordinates not obtained in situ with GPS but estimated post-collection event using mapping programs. Coordinates considered accurate to within 100 m.
Habitat: Mesic hardwood riparian forest.
Description: Small to medium sized trees. Canker evident but a few trees with abundant developing fruit.
Reproductive Condition: fruit
Preparations: Herbarium Sheet 1 of 1.
Notes: Scattered to locally common in riparian corridor & adjacent roadside. Extends along road for at least 100 m in each direction (but not solid). Resident of trailer S of road came out to see what we were up to and told us he had some more on his place. Largest population I have seen in Arkansas (as of August 2017).
