Habitat: An open rocky ridge having recently been burnt. Uncommon along rocky ridge.
Associated Species: A few remaining stands of Pinus ponderosa and Abies concolor and with Quercus chrysolepis, Arctostaphylos patula, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Salvia pachyphylla, Penstemon grinnellii, Lupinus excubitus, Eriogonum wrightii var. subscaposum, etc.
