Locality:
USA, Texas, Pecos, Main canyon on northeast side of Sierra Madera, about 25 miles south of Fort Stockton.
Habitat:
In shade on upper rocky slopes of canyon on NE side of Sierra Madera.
Substrate:
Limestone.
Associated Taxa:
Stem samples of this specimen were microscopically examined and found to contain an endophytic fungus per James F. White, Jr., 29 Nov 1985.

Notes:
Original annotation: Stipa eminens Cav. (dupl. det. Swallen, 1951). Also annotated as S. eminens Cav. by B.L. Turner, 16 Nov 2001.
