Habitat: Growing on disturbed soil of roadcut in rolling to mountainous oak-manzanita-dominated Madrean evergreen woodland.; Stony soil.
Associated Species: Quercus emoryi, Quercus oblongifolia, Arctostaphylos pungens, Platanus wrightii, Cuphea wrightii, Zinnia peruviana, Baccharis salicifolia, Ambrosia confertiflora, Bouteloua curtipendula, Aristida adscensionis.
Notes: ~4 dm ascending, likely biennial herb, with a somewhat woody. Alternate deeply devided pinnate leaves with narrow lobes. Branches ending in pannicle of narrow tubular purple (drying darkly purple) flowers with slightly exserted stamens.
