{"habit":"Solitary palm with 10 m x 20 cm truck; 17 leaves in crown, sprially arranged and spreading; true leaf petiole absent but pseudopetiole (continuation of leaf sheath) to 200-210 cm long with fibrous margins and with a 30 cm wide fibrous leaf sheath base, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded; leaf rachis 308-328 cm long; 189-192 pairs of pinnae which are distributed in clusters of (2-)3-5 along the rachis in several planes; middle pinnae 73-93 cm long by 2-2.7 cm wide; androgynous inflorescence with 40-50 cm long peduncle, 103 cm long rachis and a terminus extending the total length of the inflorescence to 131 cm; 240 rachillae with a length of 39-42 cm at the apex and 50-60 cm at the base; peduncular bract with a total length of 190 cm including a beak of 21 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 124 cm long by 17 cm in width; this particular infructescence had another smaller peduncular bract just above the normal peduncular bract and it was sulcate and measured by 95 by 6-7 cm with no beak; the presence of this bract is quite atypical in Syagrus."}
