Locality: Ecuador, Pichincha, Quito, Ecuador: Pichincha: Quito. 00°07'S 78°30'W Quito; in El Parque La Carolina, proposed site of Quito Botanical Garden; disturbed area with artificial mounds of dirt. 2800 m Cultivated tree ca 10 m tall; bark smooth and gray or often with vertical orangish crack-like lines; flowers pale yellow; dark seeds with orangish-red appendage.
