Habitat: Gentle valley floor near base of steeper granitic slopes; Grassland of Elymus elymoides, Poa secunda, Stipa speciosa, Bromus rubens, Vulpia myuros, etc., with scattered Eriogonum fasciculatum, Ceanothus leucodermis, and Pinus sabiniana. Common in open areas within grassland.
