Locality: United States, California, Riverside County, NW Palomar Mountains, Agua Tibia Mountains: Vail Lake area, north and just south of Hwy. 79. The hills east of the Dripping Springs alcove and west of Vail Lake Marina Road, that were burned in the Vail fire of May 1996.
Elevation: 476-549 meters (1561-1801ft)
Habitat: Areas of burned chaparral, with unburned pockets consisting of Ceanothus crassifolius, Quercus berberidifolia, Adenostoma fasciculatum, A. sparsifolia, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Rhamnus crocea, etc. Arkose substrate with a sandy soil; aspects S, E, and W; slope 10 to 170 percent.
