Locality: United States, California, San Luis Obispo, Camp San Luis Obispo. Chorro Creek Drainage above Chorro Reservoir. Vicinity of type location of Cirsium fontinale var. obispoense (Chorro Creek bog thistle). Local in disturbed soil in edge of exclosure and along roadsides outside of exclosure.
Elevation: 219-256 meters Verbatim Elevation: 720-840 ft
Habitat: Grassy hillsides with springs and flowing creeks. Serpentenite parent material. Part of site within fenced enclosure. Local in disturbed soil.
Substrate: Serpentenite parent material.
Associated Species: Cirsium fontinale var. obispoense
Description: Plants bushy, up tro ca. 1 m tall. Corollas purple.
