Locality: United States, Florida, Alachua, United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Hummingbird Garden. Open sunny bed. Plants growing thick together with leaves to ca. 1. meter long. and ca. 5 cm wide, widest above the middle. Inflorescence with 5 flowers subtended by brown bracts to ca. 5.9 cm long. Flowers with an ovary ca. 1.5 cm long, a staminal cup ca. 3.5 cm wide, 6 white tepals, and a green perianth tube to ca. 19.5 cm long. Scape slightly glaucous and elliptical in cross section. Bulb large, apparently forming bublets. Plants covering a large bed. Only two plants have been seen in flower over a several year period. Plants are apparently evergreen but are killed to the ground during freezing weather. Lat. 29.61319°N Long. 082.40705°W Datum: WGS84. S21,T10S,R19E.
