Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. Eastern portion of prairie fen, 25-50m from eastern border, 45m south of Typha stand south of the Grand river. Area dominated by Carex with Thelypteris palustris and asters. Shrubs not dense but clumped, 3m2 clump every 20m2, saplings every 4m2. Shrubs include Salix, Cornus and Toxicodendron vernix. Ground hummocky and moist to wet.
