Habitat: Chihuahuan Desert scrub (Larrea-Flourensia) and tobosa grassland.
Associated Species: Prosopis glandulosa var. torreyana, Scleropogon brevifolius, Peganum mexicanum, Plateilema palmeri.
Description: Infrequent in depressions where water collects. Rhizomatous perennial to 30-50 cm.
Notes: Originally identified as Iva dealbata.
