Habitat: On windblown sandy ridge above treeline, with many other alpine flowers. Soil: colluvial sandy cryochrept derived from porphyry.

Notes: Rico Quad. Height 8-10 cm. Fresh petals: yellow, 5Y8/12. Alpine form.
