Heterotheca pumila, det. by W. A. Weber 1996; Probably a high-altitude microrace of Heterotheca villosa sens. lat., characterized by comparatively glabrate foliage and single terminal heads. Originally ID as Heterotheca horrida. Fls. bright yellow; abundant. Plants of Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
