Description: Grown in cultivation at Desert Botanical Garden, accession number 1991 0670 0102, originally collected 26 September 1991 by Liz Ecker 0070, Wendy Hodgson and Lynda Kozak; plant flowered in Garden 2 July 2004, single, leaves green-gray, bracts long-attenuate, stalk 11 m tall, 46 mm diam at eye level, peduncles 16, perpendicular to stalk, tepals on buds maroonish-pink, ovary, neck, tube light chartreuse, outer tepal lobes light cream-yellow becoming pink-maroon distally with rust brown fuzzy apices, inner tepal lobes light cream-light chartreuse, each with tuft of white fuzz within apices, each becoming brown with anthesis, filaments maroon light cream-light chartreuse, darker flecked distally, anthers light yellow, style rose-magenta, measurements after Gentry (1982) in mm: tl=54, o=26x8, n=3, tu=12x14, bulging, fil ins=6.5, 5, fil=48, a=10, outer tepal lobe 13x7(base), 4.5(mid), inner tepal lobe 12x4.5(base), 3.5(mid), erect-clasping, sty=45.
