Habitat: With little bluestem in lightly burned post oak - loblolly pine forest on level to gently rolling upland underlain by Eocene sand (Reklaw Formation), on some sort of deep, well drained, fine sandy Alfisol. Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Culms tall (for a lovegrass), forming large clumps; nodes conspicuously pilose; occasional.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
