Habitat:
Rare (here) in grassland in grazed pasture on shallow stony clay soils on lower slopes underlain by Cretaceous limestone (probably Goodland Limestone). Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Artemisia ludoviciana, Aster ericoides, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. hirsuta, Eriogonum longifolium, Gutierrezia texana, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sorghastrum nutans, Stenosiphon linifolius, Stillingia texana, Tridens muticus, Vernonia lindheimeri, Yucca pallida.
