Habitat: Frequent in tallgrass grassland on deep, excessively drained, neutral fine sand Typic Ustipsamments (Tivoli Series) on rolling dune-like landscape. Associates include Andropogon hallii, Ambrosia psilostachya, Amorpha canescens, Artemisia filifolia, Bouteloua gracilis, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Croton glandulosus, Digitaria cognata, Elymus canadensis, Eragrostis sp. (26427), Eriogonum multiflorum, Gutierrezia sp., Liatris sp., Heterotheca subaxillaris, Rhus aromatica, Salvia azurea, Sorghastrum nutans, Sporobolus cryptandrus, S. giganteus, Triplasis purpurea, Yucca glauca.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
