Habitat: Rare in tall shrubland or thickety woodland on rocky alluvium within floodplain of wet-weather creek. Associates include Quercus pungens var. vaseyana, Juniperus ashei, Diospyros texana, Cuscuta exaltata, Ungnadia speciosa, Toxicodendron sp., Sophora secundiflora.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting=late
