Habitat: Frequent in cobbles and gravel. Associates include Justicia americana, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Eleocharis rostellata, Juglans microcarpa, Fuirena simplex, Cladium jamaicense, Andropogon glomeratus, Panicum virgatum, Salvia farinacea, Baccharis sp., Platanus occidentalis.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
