Locality: United States, Texas, Bastrop, In subdivision to the W of SR 304 along CR 272, ca. 15 mi N of FM 535; upper drainage of Piney Creek.
Habitat: Drainage. Pinus taeda-dominated woodland; in open area at base of sandstone bluff by road in loose, white sandy soil. Liatris elegans v. carrizana, Croton glandulosus, Hymenopappus carrizoanus. Uncommon in sandy soil.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
