Erect or drooping herb. Open fields, waste ground. Annual. Soil: clay loam. Flowers: clustered or paniculate, white, no odor. Leaves: pale beneath, oblong, reddish on upper surface. Fruit: clustered in small reddish capsules. Bark: green. Roots: fibrous. Frequent. The stems are red. It occurs in the late autumn. It is not common.
