Habitat: Rare in moist alluvial silt and clay at base of unshaded riverbank. Associates include Echinochloa walteri, Erigeron ortegae var. spinosus, Iva annua, Juncus effusus, Panicum dichotomiflorum, Paspalum pubiflorum, P. urvillei, Persicaria punctata, Phyla nodiflora.
