Habitat:
Abundant on roadside in bare limestone substrate. Larrea, Dasylirion, Ephedra, and Agave leuchuguilla dominant. Many, many other plants in flower due to recent rains. Tiquilia hispidissima (MJM 119), T. canescens (MJM 121) and Menodora longiflora (MJM 122) also present. Flowers dark rose pink with yellow throats. Calyces tinged with red. Additional material: DNA.
