Habitat: E-facing steep slope at base of cliff, in mesquite grassland.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Gossypium thurberi, Aloysia wrightii, Yucca madrensis, Fouquieria splendens, Viguiera dentata var. lancifolia, Elytraria imbricata, Ambrosia confertiflora, Bouteloua curtipendula, Bouteloua repens, Eragrostis lehmanniana, Digitaria californica, Heteropogon contortus, Nicotiana obtusifolia, Brickellia californica, Cottsia gracilis, Apodanthera undulata, Acaciella angustissima.
Description: Perennial forb, 20 cm; flowers dark red.
