Habitat: Fully exposed, sparsely vegetated, east-facing rocky slope, on east side of trail just above talus deposits
Associated Species: Cirsium eatonii var. eatonii, Artemisia ludoviciana subsp. incompta, Sambucus racemosa
Description: One of only a few species in flower, glabrous throughout, green bracts equal and not imbricate, subtended by about 6 spreading bracts; rays 8-10, yellow, 1 cm long and about 3 cm wide
Reproductive Condition: Flowering
Notes: In checking this same area on 9/28/2016, no plants of this species could be relocated.
