Description:
Plant height ca 6 feet; stems greenishâ?"yellow gray; spines white; flowers collected in the afternoon, diameter 38-48 mm, length 47-59 mm, outer perianth maroon with reddishâ?"green midstripe, inner perianth deep wine; stigma lobe number 8-9, cream; style cream blused with magenta just below stigma lobes; filaments magenta and greenishâ?"gold; dry fruit tan, diameter 14-17 mm, length 15-20 mm, seeds tan; fleshy fruit collected 7 December 2010 and are yellow or yellow-green, diameter 17-27 mm, length 28-32 mm, most of the fruit are sterile.
