Plant: Perennial 15-45 cm, aromatic; stem puberulent, becoming glabrous below, branched at base Leaves: short-petioled to sessile; blade 5-11 mm, 1-4 mm wide, linear to ± oblong, tip generally obtuse INFLORESCENCE: cyme; flowers 3-7; axillary at upper stem nodes, each head-like, subtended by leaves; bracts minute pedicels 2-3.5 mm Flowers: calyx 5-6 mm, lobes converging, throat ± closed in fruit, tube swollen or pouched below middle; corolla 7-9 mm, 2-lipped, lower lip length = width, upper lip > lower, entire to 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed; stamens 2, under upper lip or exserted, staminodes minute or 0; style unequally 2-lobed Fruit: Fruit: nutlets 4, pitted, glaucous, gelatinous when wet Misc: Rocky, gravelly soils; 1400-1700 m.
