Plant: perennial herb, 2-6 dm tall, glabrous or moderately to densely woolly Leaves: alternate, hairy or glabrous, ovate to linear, gradually to abruptly narrowing apically Inflorescence: a terminal, compound cyme Flowers: calyx lobes linear, 2-9 mm long; corolla tube 7-12 mm long, broadest at the apex, markedly constricted at the orifice, the lobes 3-9 mm long Fruit: distinctly constricted between the seeds, 2-8 cm long; SEEDS elliptic, corky, 8-21 mm long, 3-6 mm broad Misc: Sandy deserts REFERENCES: McLaughlin, Steven, P. 1994.
