Plant: annual herb; to 60 cm tall Leaves: to 10 cm long, sessile, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate; margin pectinate with teeth in the sinuses. BRACTS ovate to lanceolate, green; margins toothed to lobed INFLORESCENCE: cymose Flowers: sessile; petals golden yellow, 15-40 mm long, 10-26 mm wide; staminodia 0; stamens ca. 100, all with linear filaments; style 10-25 mm long Fruit: capsules clavate; long-tapering to base; base not woody; body 20-40 mm long, usually straight to slightly arched.
