Habitat: In rocky (granite/gneiss) soil along creek on E-facing slope.
Associated Species: Acer, Alnus, Abies, Aquilegia
Description: Perennials from erect, scaly rhizomes; leaves often overwintering, neither aromatic nor glandular, to 75 cm tall; blades sparsely scaly along rachises & costae, the scales on the latter mostly hair-like; pinnules with incurved (not spinulose) teeth; sori medial; indusia reniform; spores brown, coarsely rugose, averaging ca. 48 microns long.
