Sonoran Desert scrub community, northnortheast-facing slope, area chemically sprayed within last few weeks, much loss of vegetation.

Description:
Uncommon, plants ca 1.3 m tall, leaning southwest, ribs 22, flowers 43(l) x 43(w) mm, 45x37 mm, inner tepal 18x8 mm, linear-oblanceolate, outer perianth red-maroon with narrow yellow margin, inner tepals yellow, filaments yellow, anthers dark yellow, style light cream-yellow, stigma lobes light yellow.
