Locality: USA, Arizona, Yuma, North Gila Mountains, north end, 75 m. west of Dome Valley Rd., south of Gila River crossing.

Habitat: Sonoran Desert. Lower Colorado River Valley Subdivision. Creosote-Bursage association.
Substrate: Gently-sloped northwest-facing sandy ridge with light gravel mantle.
Associated Species: Ambrosia dumosa, Larrea tridentata, Psorothamnus emoryi, Hilaria rigida, Atriplex polycarpa, Krameria bicolor.
Description: Annual for 21 cm high. Leaves 4 cm long near base, growing smaller and appressed up stem. Extensive black insect casings and leaf defoliation visible. 100% flowering. Inflorescence a deep rich yellow, approximately 3 cm diameter.
Notes: Desert Sunflower.
