Locality: United States, California, Imperial, California Route 86/78, west side of road, near Kane Spring, 0.6 mile southeast of U.S. Border Patrol Station at San Felipe Wash bridge. About 3.3 miles southwest of the Salton Sea margin. Elevation about -170 feet.
Habitat: Dry, disturbed sandy gravel.; Sonoran desert, open, sparsely vegetated flats [creosotebush scrub] dominated by Prosopis glandulosa, Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Atriplex.; Flowers yellow, clusters pendulous; common shrub about 1 meter tall in circular colonies on raised sand mounds in wash. Fruits green, immature.
