Locality: USA, Utah, Sevier, Fishlake National Forest, from Elsinore, go N along I-70 frontatge rd to sub-I-70 tunnel (ca. 1.2 mi N of Elsinore), drive jeep trail to Flat Canyon Draw (garbage strewn), park; hike down to gray (not pink/orange) flat. USFS. (BLM/FS land swap 1987)

Habitat: Highly disturbed semi-arid steppe/P-J woodland ecotone on clif/valley interface in Pahvant Mtns.; SE aspect, 9° slope
Substrate: only on gray/purple soils only, not pink soils predominating the area; pink(5YR 8/4) colored clay soils
Associated Species: Hilaria jamesii, Grayia spinosa, Bromus tectorum, Achnatherum hymenoides, Poa secunda, Hesperostipa comata, Juniperus osteosperma, Artemisia nova, Pinus edulis, Tetrademia spinosa
Description: Plants about 55 on 0.25 A; 1.5 feet tall.
Reproductive Condition: fruit bearing
Notes: Seed collected from 50 plants; to be used for general research, genetic studies, long-term storage, & site rehab. 'Mormon needlegrass'. Voucher for Seeds of Success program.
