Habitat: Grazed valley grasslands on fluvial-sorted gravel accumulations. Growing in silt soil on a 5° SE-facing slope.
Substrate: fluvial-sorted gravel accumulations; (reddish gray) colored silt soils.
Associated Species: Artemisia tridentata, Bromus tectorum, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Guterriezia sarothrae, Hilaria jamesii, Elymus elymoides, Opuntia polyacanthia, Sarcobatus vermiculatus, Sisymbrium sp., Erodium sp., Aristida sp., Halogeton sp.
Description: Plants about 700 on 1.25 A; 1.5 feet tall.
Reproductive Condition: fruit bearing
Notes: Seed collected from 250 plants; to be used for general research, genetic studies, long-term storage & site rehab. 'Indian ricegrass'. Voucher for Seeds of Success program.
