Grazed/trampled stream dissected riparian meadow/hanging gardens bordered by sandstone canyons & cliffs in the Bicknell Drainage; SW aspect 10-15° slope.
Plants about 450 on 2.5 A; 0.5-0.75 ft tall; lvs. cauline, numerous, flowers blue to violet.

Seed collected from 20 plants; to be used for general research, genetic studies, long-term storage & site rehab. 'Pleated gentian' or 'Rocky Mountain gentian.' Voucher for: Seeds of Success program.
