Open slope with a few trees of Acer saccharinum, along the river, the Amorpha fruticosa strictly confined to the vicinity of the river (although not necessarily where marshy), none found more than 5m away from edge of river. Shrubs up to 2m tall, the stems less than 4cm in diameter, several stems from base of clumps. Flowers lightly fragrant; petals dark purple; filaments and style light purple; anthers orange-yellow.
