Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 80 - 90m south of lakeside, moved from Carex to slightly drier herbaceous area with Tamarack, Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus, and Rhamnaceae 5-10m2. 100-125m west of dock. Huge hummock nearby loaded with Carex, ferns, and more. Ground moist but not puddling.
Population - not very prominent, 2-3 individuals per 1m2 area, similar to L. uniflorus. Found near fern, Carex, and asters.
